Fitness assessment for work in confined and high-risk environments

Confined space work is one of the highest-risk activities in industry. The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 require that anyone entering such environments is fit to do so — both physically and psychologically.

Our assessment considers cardiovascular capacity, respiratory function, mobility, and the ability to remain calm and competent under emergency conditions.

What's included

  • Cardiovascular and respiratory assessment
  • Blood pressure, pulse and ECG where indicated
  • Lung function testing (spirometry)
  • Musculoskeletal and mobility assessment
  • Screening for claustrophobia and panic-related conditions
  • Review of medication that could impair performance in an emergency
  • Written fitness-to-work statement

Who it's for

Workers entering tanks, silos, sewers, tunnels, vessels, pits, ducts or any enclosed space with restricted access — including utilities, construction, manufacturing, and rescue teams.
